Line - DSL), known as SDSL (or symmetrical) that is not available
to most consumers in the U.K. and its use is currently limited to
a small number of areas and businesses.
A symmetrical broadband service has equivalent upload and download
speeds allowing subscribers to send very large files, web host and
use applications such as VoIP. Standard asymmetric broadband (ADSL),
on the other hand, has slow upload thereby affecting the kind of
applications it can run.
ADSL only offers 256 K/bps SDSL offers 2 M/BPS i.e. 8 times
faster.
This means that online gaming, web hosting and people working from
home using Internet Telephone services / Autocad will be heavily
rewarded when the service goes live.
BT currently charge between £1,440 - £5,000.00
per annum for this service!!!
